January Sixteen – “Never Too Late”

/

“Never Too Late” is a rousing rocker from Scottish band January Sixteen, representing the closing track on their self-titled EP. Its lyrics stir in playing like a message to youth, conveying to savor their time and embrace the present. Its sound takes inspiration from artists like James and The Stone Roses, and enamors all-around in its jangly guitars and lushly melodic vocal composure.

“What a day to wish your life away,” the vocals open, ruminating on life’s beauty the marveling of a soul’s existence. “It’s never too late to give up the fight,” kickstarts an enthusiastic, motivational hook with chirpy guitar reflections. Further “when you’re young,” contemplations urge that there’s “still a lot to learn,” resonating with a crisply melodic rock sound that feels eternally relevant in emphasizing to value the present, for time flies by in the blink of an eye.
