Ian Vargo – “Still Here (A Song for Avi)”

/

“Still Here (A Song for Avi)” is a heartrending track from Ian Vargo. The Savannah, Georgia-based artist explores the pain of loss, asking “why am I still here?” with a reflective outpouring of emotions. The minimalist voice-and-guitar arsenal highlight the lyrical power, which laments “I’m sorry I couldn’t given you more,” — in capturing the tragic brevity of a loved one, and particularly a child, departing from this world.

Vargo is donating all proceeds from the single to the March of Dimes, a charity that serves to ensure the health of mothers and babies. This is a moving, impactful success from the artist.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2023’ Spotify playlist.
