Ronald Van Deurzen – “Night Walk”

/

“Night Walk” captures the power of a tranquil nighttime stroll, when the day’s bustle fades into a more serene escape. The piano-driven single is melodic and atmospheric, showcasing the work of Dutch artist Ronald Van Deurzen. The production enamors in its range from piano-laden sidewalk traversing to swift string-forward rushes through urban tunnels, conveyed visually as well in the track’s music video.

A contemplative glow permeates within the soundscape, expanding from a gentle string-laden calmness into emotive piano touches. Cinematic strings flourish past the one-minute turn, with a climactic whirring aptly present alongside the video’s tunnel-traversing imagery. A frolicking mandolin underlies thereafter, resembling the rhythmic pulse of public transit, as the piano lines assume a more ardent expression into the meditative final minute. “Night Walk” struts a blissful atmospheric charm, paired with a video that enjoyably accompanies its nocturnal soundscape.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2023’ Spotify playlist.
