taary – ‘Particular’ EP

Germany-based artist taary blends playful electronic experimentation with more introspective, carefully layered production on Particular, a five-track EP that moves freely between various moods and approaches. Working independently as both artist and producer, Taary embraces an intuitive creative process, allowing simple looping ideas and more intricately arranged compositions to coexist without adhering to a fixed genre.

A frolicking vibrancy compels on opening track “Particular,” set into motion by cut-up dreamy vocals, glistening strums, and thumping bass momentum. An ascended vocal feeling at the one-minute mark furthers the lovely soundscape, developing with lushly transportive immersion. Ensuing track “Pale In The Water” furthers the tropical, ocean-set vibe, here with trickles of water aligning with calming twinkles and mellow keys. The contemplative, lo-fi beginnings expand seamlessly into enthused high-pitched vocal elements and playful rhythms.

Also captivating is EP finale “White Wall,” simultaneously hypnotic and infectious in its use of marimba-friendly tones, resonant acoustics, and dynamic work, spanning from lower-pitched murmurs to effervescent vocal layering. A head-nodding charm flows throughout, with the serenely impactful conclusion fusing the vocal aspects with gently pulsating bass and handclaps. Particular is a consistently atmospheric, impactful EP from Taary, showing an impressive capacity for both laid-back entrancement and bright hooks.
