Jenny XII – “Marissa’s Song”

/

Described as “an ode to love in a growing family,” “Marissa’s Song” is the latest single from Denver-based trio Jenny XII. Gentle guitars and mellow vocals align enjoyably to start, with trickling guitars signaling an uptick in jangling guitars and soaring vocal passion. The “heartstrings in her summer love,” refrain melds gorgeously with the pulsing guitar tones, punctuated by piano-based pleasantries. Lovely guitar work at the mid-point enamors as the vocals take a momentary reprieve, traversing again seamlessly thereafter into the warming chorus.

“Marissa’s Song” is a stellar success from Jenny XII, releasing ahead of their self-titled debut albu, out in February, with mixing by Kevin Ratterman and mastering by Joe Lambert.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
