Sparrow Moon Lodge – “A Sparrow”

Philadelphia-based band Sparrow Moon Lodge impress with new single “A Sparrow,” traversing with a hypnotic introspection via frolicking acoustics, buzzing synths, and steady vocal momentum. The track represents the opening to their upcoming debut album, Bulldozer, releasing on February 2nd. Andy Holmes wrote, recorded, and performed the album entirely on his own.

“I am lightning,” the opening vocals let out, immersing with a spacious intrigue. A decisive, consistent melodic and tonal presentation persists, with textural swells adorning the bass-y pulse and simmering synth. A “the flood,” vocal sequence arises with slight backing effervescence, marking a subtle yet impactful accompaniment within the compelling mix. We’re excited to dig into the rest of Bulldozer on February 2nd.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
