VELIKA VELIKA – “COMING.GOING.”

/

A bluesy, distorted rock nostalgia lingers on “COMING.GOING.,” a new track from VELIKA VELIKA, a project based in Belper, UK. Distorted bass amps and live drums complement a chilled-out vocal composure, with a second-half evolution that stretches its legs out a bit into psych-friendly inducement.

Distorted guitars and weary vocals exude a chugging rock nostalgia, expanding with briefly feverish ardency at the 40-minute mark. A suave, fuzzy arsenal persists throughout much of the first minute, setting climactically for another grungy lift-off around the track’s mid-point. “COMING.GOING.” consistently compels in its debonair structural direction, letting loose in the second half as serene, psych-friendly guitar lines meander between bursts of pulsing guitar distortion.

VELIKA VELIKA strut a convincing rock appeal on this success, described by the artist as “about a person in life who thinks that they are finally something – finally attractive to others – finally noticeable though they really have nothing to offer.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
