The Stray Lions – “Sober”

/

A hazily introspective rock allure shows on “Sober,” a new track from The Stray Lions, a five-piece based in Roanoke, Virginia. The lyrics stir in capturing a fateful meeting, wherein one sees and meets their significant other. The “as you float across the room,” vocal momentum is palpable with the guitar pulses and ascending vocals alongside. A whirring, spacey effect lingers beautifully alongside hazy guitar jangles, complementing a state of blissful inducement upon meeting a special person.

“I wish I was sober,” the vocals call out during an impactful refrain, with shout-y vocal ardency adding to a climax that culminates in a soaring guitar power. The powerful, evolving sound makes for a resonating success from The Stray Lions, with “Sober” representing the first single via their upcoming album — which we’re absolutely anticipating.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
