Leah Callahan – “Ordinary Face”

//

Moody guitar jangles and twinkling keys assemble a nostalgic rock appeal on “Ordinary Face,” a riveting new single from Leah Callahan. Her successes in the Boston music scene span from the mid ’90s, as frontwoman for bands Turkish Delight US and Betwixt & The Glass Set, to memorable solo material today. “Ordinary Face” comes via the upcoming album Curious Tourist, out on April 29th.

“You’re just an ordinary girl, the kind that’s overlooked,” the vocals let out amidst thumping bass, flashes of guitars, and frolicking keys, launching into a compelling viola infusion alongside the bouncy rock demeanor. “Ordinary Face” thoroughly compels in its dynamics between pulsing rock intrigue and chamber-pop flourishes.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
