Ghostcake – “Foreverhome”

//

Glistening synths and dreamy guitars intertwine beautifully on “Foreverhome,” the latest single from NYC-based Ghostcake. The electronic musician, producer and visual artist excels with dazzlingly lush soundscape here, after first catching our ears with debut single “Get It Right” in December. “Foreverhome” is described as “a song about the soul’s journey to find the place where it belongs, the lostness one might feel along the way, and the inevitable joy of becoming who you were always meant to be.”

The gradual addition of various instrumentation makes for a climactic appeal throughout. Prancing, effervescent synths and understated guitars venture into a bouncier tightness, where synth pulses and serene backing vocals ascend into a chirpy brass-laden brightness. An optimistic quality persists in the effort’s tonal direction, fitting well within the release’s aim, which per the project is to “inspire others to keep chasing their unique vision of forever, whatever shape it may reveal itself to be.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
