homesick aliens – “Close Encounters (With Terra)”

/

An otherworldly, lush intrigue takes hold initially on “Close Encounters (With Terra),” a recent single from homesick aliens that expands into a feverish rock sound. Gliding guitar lines and jazz-touched percussion complement a serene vocal introspection, which maintains a consuming quality into the “rising,” sequence — where glistening guitar jangles meld with the soothing vocal refrain a replay-inducing impact. The more serene tone shifts around mid-point in satisfying form, into a thunderous rock territory with buzzing distortion and a delectable guitar solo.

homesick aliens add the following:

“We invite you to explore our planet of origin through this song, which begins our story of leaving an alien world. It reflects on finding peace in nature despite feeling estranged. The song has three parts: afternoon, evening, and night. Morning will be included in the EP version of the song. The musical style draws inspiration from Radiohead(The Bends) and modern dream pop like Real Estate and Beach Fossils.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
