Richard Green – “A Lesson”

A warming assortment of vibrant strings and mellow guitar lines enamor on “A Lesson,” a new track from London-based artist Richard Green. First catching our ears in March with the single “Let Your Light Shine,” Green continues to display a tendency for invitingly melodic songwriting with easy-going soundscape traversals. Green’s discography impresses with a variety of styles, from electronic to neo-classical, and “The Lesson” embraces an approachable pop-rock charm.

Within the sweetly endearing vibe, there’s a deep introspection apparent, influenced by the COVID quarantine setting when “A Lesson” was first composed. “This track represented my wish that the humanity could come out better after that period of quarantine,” Green says. Another compelling aspect throughout is the bass line, spanning from bouncy vigor to suave accompaniments. An electric guitar solo proves delightful into the final minute as well, with shades of sophisti-pop. “A Lesson” is another stirring success from Richard Green.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
