Ayla Loon – “Ragdoll”

A dreamy mesmerizer from Ayla Loon, “Ragdoll” is a beautiful new single that showcases the artist’s delicate vocal power and tendency for lush entrancement. Mellow guitars and rainy-day keys complement a soulful vocal moroseness, as a ghostly backing emerges around the mid-point, as electric guitars exude a more prominent murmuring. “Ragdoll” compels in both its spacious, somber-feeling intrigue and glimpses of haunting, textural expanses via the lovely backing vocal infusions and general instrumentation. “Ragdoll” is a strongly memorable production.

The project is the alias of multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Ayla Stabile, presently based in Portland, Oregon. Look for Ayla Loon’s upcoming 12-track album Under Ice, releasing in June on Funnybone Records.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
