Uncle Skunk – “Drone Song”

/

NYC-based experimental rock project Uncle Skunk unveil a captivating, dynamic tonal display on new track “Drone Song,” which ascends into a blistering rock intensity following an understated, grungy intrigue. Principal songwriters Henry Pearson and Otis Streeter show some serious chops here, succeeding in both the ghostly vocal segments and more charismatic bursts of guitars. The three-minute turn is especially inviting in its blast of distortion, and then injecting a gorgeous array of hooky multi-layered vocal emissions. “Drone Song” is a thorough success from Uncle Skunk.

As the band explains: “This song is really just another excuse to have fun and go nuts. And nuts we went. And fun we had.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
