A stylish house-forward danceability invigorates across “Second Round,” a new single collaboration from Sherm, Isaac Palmer, Amero, and Devarra. The trio of Sherm, Palmer, and Amero previously worked together on the single “Going Numb,” and Devarra joined on for this success. “This was the opposite of ‘too many cooks in the kitchen’ because the final product is extremely tasty,” Sherm says. He notes “Second Round” as being in line with his mission to craft club-ready records that “create memories with your friends.”
A thumping bass pulse kicks off immediately, while contagious vocal samples move with ample momentum as pit-pattering percussion drops into the grimy bass drop at the 30-second mark. A vocal-fronted sparseness takes hold about a minute thereafter, then traversing seamlessly into a buzzing synth-bass entrancement and reflective, rousing conclusion. The production’s heady rhythmic elements and synth-laden drops pair with seamless vocal incorporations to result in a strikingly infectious success from Sherm, Isaac Palmer, Amero, and Devarra.
