“siren song” is a lushly impactful track from underexposed. A weightless array of woodwinds builds an initially hypnotic entrancement, building thereafter into caressing vocals. The illuminated organ, tender guitars, and whistling effect combine for a serenely immersive allure as well. “The siren song, is an unrelenting drone,” the vocals drive, artfully capturing the seeming permanence of technology and poignantly asking: “Will we turn it off / When engine starts to cough?”
“this song is about social media and how it is tearing society apart, cheapening art in the music industry, and personally altering my self image for the worse,” the artist writes. “i recorded all of the vocals on an actual telephone, as well as some other tracks here and there for the lofi vibe.”
