GO XO – “Nothing to Prove”

/

Strutting a catchy rock drive, “Nothing to Prove” is a consuming new track from GO XO, representing the third release from the project of Chicago-based, Australian musician Luke Davis. Playful bass bounces combine with a sturdy vocal presence, gradually accompanied by twanging guitar suaveness and climactic strums that gear up into escalated vocals and a punctuating “am I addicted to nothing?” questioning. “And you’re excused of all you’ve done to me,” Davis’ vocals emanate during an especially melodic sequence, reminding fondly of Father John Misty in its stylishness and artful momentum. “Nothing to Prove” is a wholly convincing success from GO XO.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
