The Horses – “Little Epiphany”

/

Boston-based rock duo The Horses present a fun, hooky charmer of a track with “Little Epiphany,” their second single. Comprising Tyler Wyatt (formerly of Surfliner) and Johnny Burke, The Horses stir with a mixture of chugging guitars, steady rhythms, and blaring organs on this production — a replay-inducer that envelops in its punchy vocals and no-frills, nostalgic rock pull. “I wanna be part of your, soak up all your, perfect little pretty little epiphany,” the stylish vocals let out, giving way to a delectably twangy guitar solo past the two-minute turn.

“I wanted to make something that sounded good coming out of a speaker on a July evening,” says Burke, who wrote the track following attending Oasis’s return show in Manchester. “Like an outtake from REM’s Lifes Rich Pageant that I wish they’d kept.” It represents another success from the duo, who caught our ears with their debut single “Block” earlier this year.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
