The Two Tracks – “Mexico By Friday”

Wyoming-based quartet The Two Tracks conjure a spirited folk-rock beckoning on new track “Mexico By Friday,” fusing twangy guitar warmness and melodic vocal flair, tempting to “come and down to meet me at our secret spot” despite its long distance. The track’s inspiration comes via songwriter Julie Huebner; she and her bandmate husband Dave spend part of each winter in their cob-constructed house on the Baja Peninsula of Mexico.

The duet-ing vocal presence here pairs with laid-back rhythms and suave guitars for an impactful ascent, then moving into the “view of the ocean” scene-setting of the verses. Further “stay with me tonight” urgings maneuver into another “secret spot” hook, then giving way to a delectable guitar solo as the lyrical sunrising ensues. “Mexico By Friday” is a consuming success of a track from The Two Tracks.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
