Z. Lou – “All I Want to Do Is to Be Stupid”

Delighting in its twangy, dreamy rock disposition, “All I Want to Do Is to Be Stupid” is a resonating new track from Ezra Duran-Garcia’s project Z. Lou, formerly known as Midwest Delusions. He describes the effort as reflecting “on the feeling of being an outsider unable to relate and the feelings of rejection and frustration that come with it.”

“All I want to do is to be stupid with you,” a layered vocal lushness begins amidst laid-back guitar tones, giving off a sense of nonchalance in the vocal tone and “but how I’d like to spend them, I really couldn’t say” perspectives on day-to-day living. The soulful “am I some kind of creature?” line shows shades of UMO, lovably, and seamlessly comes back into the suave verses. A dose of escalated vocal passion unveils in the final 30 seconds, capping off this stellar track with satiating ardor.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
