Lanier Sammons – “I Know”

Depicting a doomed relationship within an expanding sonic backdrop, progressing from resonant guitars to cello-touched ardor, “I Know” is a moving success of a track from Lanier Sammons. Originally the lead guitarist for Seven Bridges, based in his home town of Macon, Georgia before also playing with New York bands, Sammons is now based in Massachusetts.

Awakening guitar twangs meld with a delivery acknowledging a demise: “I give you one last kiss, before it’s time for me to go.” A shift to acoustic-led solemnity sends chills in the ensuing sequence, as hopes to “run away somewhere” are cut short by the poignant “I know you won’t” line, eventually giving way to a touching cello accompaniment. “I Know” is an affecting success of a track from Lanier Sammons.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
