Wolf Parade Debut Two New Songs

Two new tracks from Wolf Parade‘s upcoming third album, EXPO 86, made the internet rounds today. “Ghost Pressure”, a thumping piece of electro-rock, and “What Did My Lover Say? (It Always Had to Go This Way)”, a typical Krug triumph, are seamlessly furthering the hype for EXPO 86, which should be one of this summer’s talked-about releases. Wolf Parade have never struggled to find an output for their music, and the immediate accessibility of these two tracks should solidify their status as staples of college radio. Wolf Parade serves as an expression of the most conventional material from Krug and Boeckner, who often tread breathtaking artistic territory with their primary efforts in Sunset Rubdown and Handsome Furs, respectively. This output, while classified as conventional, is imaginative and sprawling enough to remain constantly engaging, representing some of the most cohesive songwriting of their carers. EXPO 86, which will be released June 29th, looks to be continuing the stellar fashion of the band’s previous material. Nothing here sounds particularly surprising… it is just the same stellar songwriting we have come to expect from both Krug and Boeckner at this point.

EXPO 86 will play as followed:

01 “Cloud Shadow on the Mountain”
02 “Palm Road”
03 “What Did My Lover Say? (It Always Had to Go This Way)”
04 “Little Golden Age”
05 “In the Direction of the Moon”
06 “Ghost Pressure”
07 “Pobody’s Nerfect”
08 “Two Men in New Tuxedos”
09 “Oh You, Old Thing”
10 “Yulia”
11 “Cave-o-Sapien”

  1. I like the first track – ‘Ghost Pressure’, but seems to sound a little too much like everything else coming out at the moment.
