Mountain Goats Unveil More Tour Dates

The Mountain Goats are one of the busiest groups of 2011. They’ve been restless and on the road since April, appearing at festivals like Lollapalooza and later alongside Bright Eyes and Megafaun. With the announcement of nearly 20 new tour dates, they’ll now be joined by freak-folk trio Nurses, as well as nursing some worthwhile causes.

The new dates, which run from December to April, will include at least two philanthropic pit stops: the “Second City” Letters to Santa benefit (12/6) in Chicago and the Invisible Children benefit (12/16) in LA. They’ll also play a Rolling Stones tribute show at Carnegie Hall (3/13), followed by the premiere of the John Darnielle/Owen Pallett collaboration, Transcendental Youth, in NYC (3/24) and London (4/2). Don’t be surprised if Darnielle and co. pull more dates out of a hat in the near future. They have a habit of doing so.
