Based on his recent work with Cloud Nothings, it’s no secret that Steve Albini enjoys working with young up-and-coming musicians. His latest venture involves NJ-based trio Screaming Females, as evidenced by a photo gallery on Spin. Albini is helping record their fifth full-length album, the follow-up to 2010’s Castle Talk. Self-professed DIY rockers, Screaming Females may be forced to shed that tag if Albini gives them more polish. But hey, it’s not like he’s never made something distorted and dirty sound beautiful. This is the same guy that helped a 45-year-old Jarvis Cocker sound more ferocious than ever.
