New Merchandise Album in April

/

Merchandise - Total Nite

Merchandise’s previous album, Children of Desire, was one of my favorites of 2012 — #38, in fact. Its six tracks presented a tour-de-force mixture of shoegaze, post-punk, and new-wave folk, ranging from swelling piano ballads like “Satellite” to jangly rockers (“Become What You Are”) and thrilling shoegaze tributes (“In Nightmare Room”). Though there are plenty of music fans who have not yet been treated to Children of Desire, the Tampa-based group has already completed its follow-up. Merchandise’s new album, Totale Nite, will be released April 2nd on the Night People label. Although it only features five tracks, it’s clear from their previous releases that Merchandise make the most of what space they do have.

Two tracks from the album, “Who Are You?” and “Anxiety’s Door”, can be streamed below:

Totale Night track listing:

01. Who Are You?
02. Anxiety’s Door
03. I’ll Be Gone
04. Totale Nite
05. Winter’s Dream
