Trent Reznor Completes Nine Inch Nails LP, Out This Year

new Nine Inch Nails album

Nine Inch Nails’ cult fan base was excited in February when Trent Reznor announced that NIN would be touring in 2013. In the same announcement, he also commented on the band’s changing lineup, naming Eric Avery, Adrian Belew, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Eustis, and Ilan Rubin as new members. Reznor also mentioned working with “Adrian Belew on some musical ideas”. Those musical ideas have apparently turned into something bigger than initially stated…

Reznor just dished out even more details for his 2013 plans, which will excite fans even further. A new Nine Inch Nails album is completed, and will be released later this year on Columbia Records. Reznor completed the album after working secretly for the past year. Here’s his press release quote:
”I’ve been less than honest about what I’ve really been up to lately. For the last year I’ve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, HTDA and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!”
Columbia chairman Rob Stringer seemed equally excited: “We are thrilled at Columbia to work with a true renaissance artist like Trent Reznor on the return of Nine Inch Nails and an exciting new chapter of innovative music from them.”

Nine Inch Nails last released an album in 2008, with both Ghosts I-IV and The Slip. Reznor’s side project, How to Destroy Angels, released its full-length debut Welcome oblivion on March 5th of this year. Check out new Nine Inch Nails tour dates below:

  1. …now let’s try to talk Reznor into talking David Bowie into making another album together with him!

Mike, may I suggest that you do a retro-review of Earthling?

    Cheers!
