Divinity Roxx – “Can It B SO Hard” (feat. Victor Wooten)

divinity roxx

Divinity Roxx is known to most as Beyoncé’s frequent collaborator, specifically as her musical director and bassist for the “The Beyoncé Experience” and “I Am… World” tours. She helped compose music for the latter release, as well. As an individual artist herself, the Atlanta-based artist released two albums, Ain’t No Other Way and The Roxx Boxx Experience, in 2003 and 2012, respectively. Her newest album, ImPossible, dropped on April 19th and pursues alternative-soul territory, shown on the deliciously melodic “Can It B SO Hard”, which features esteemed bassist Victor Wooten playing across the alt-soul and reggae spectrum, as well as the darkly entrancing “Stinger”, which chronicles issues like drug addiction and mental illness over a constant bass line, ’80s-inspired guitars, and a stirring vocal performance.

ImPossible is an infectious and well-made album, and it can be streamed in full below:
