With a sound steeped in dreamy harmonies reminiscent of The Beach Boys, Grizzly Bear, and Vampire Weekend, Danke Shane is the very impressive solo project of Washington, D.C.’s Andrew Burke. The excellent “Cave In” sports a chorus that merges string-accompanied theatrics with a vintage “ballad at the dance” key-laden bounce. Burke possesses a classic vocal quiver reminiscent of Ed Droste, with a melodic adoration for vintage orchestral flourishes, in the vein of Jens Lekman.
