WeatheredMan + Danii Roundtree – “Too Much to Say I Love You”

/

WeatheredMan is the project of Simon Bradshaw, the frontman and singer/songwriter of Roja, who impressed last year with their mariachi-infused sound on tracks “The Evil Stands High” and “Company“. WeatheredMan is a collaborative projects, whose first release C-30 Duets Vol. 1 features Aaron Paul (the pop artist, not the actor), Danii Roundtree, LeeSun, Kim Jennett, and Trisha McTeague. The cut with Danii Roundtree – also featured in the past, with throwback track “Crave” – is a particularly effective one.

“Too Much to Say I Love You” works off sultry brass and guitars to start, with Bradshaw’s suave vocals reminding of Neil Hannon’s confidence, with Roundtree’s responsive vocals adding an effervescent feel. The brass-y verses mesh well with the strongly melodic chorus, making for a fine example of the project’s ability to successfully work alongside a variety of singer/songwriters.
