Ajay Mathur – “Forget About Yesterday”

/

Playful vocals and a variety of instrumentation – from harmonica to accordion – comprise the colorful track “Forget About Yesterday”, a new one from Ajay Mathur, who was featured in 2016 for his release 9 to 3. That particular release earned him a Grammy nomination in 2017. Following that strong year, Mathur is back with Little Boat, a new album featuring highlights like “Forget About Yesterday” and “Here’s the Love”.  The former begins with a playful swankiness, though at close to the two-minute marks begins a psych-friendly journey that meshes world music with hypnotic psychedelia within a hint of Americana in the harmonica, all intertwined with considerable success. It’s another testament to Mathur’s eclectic ability as a songwriter.
