Good Field – “Necessary Feeling”

“Necessary Feeling” is a highlight from Good Field’s newly released third full-length, Surface Tension, now streaming on Spotify. The release marks an advancement from the band, who has developed from home recordings to an expansive rock album with excellent production. Jim Eno (Spoon) at the sound board, as well as James Petralli (White Denim) in the studio, helped matters. Written almost entirely on retreats to remote cabins and ranches in West Texas, the album shows a no-frills rock sound that will appeal to fans of Yo La Tengo, Kings of Leon, and Deerhunter. The guitar work in the final quarter of the track is especially impressive in concluding this stellar rock track.

“Necessary Feeling” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of June 2018’ Spotify playlist.
