Syringa – “Naked”

//

Syringa are a promising act, originally from northern Idaho and now relocated to Nashville, TN. They integrate elements of blues, soul, and angst into a melodic indie-rock sound that flows nicely on new track “Naked”, released today on the major streaming platforms. The track’s vocals tout a hazy, hypnotic feel, similar in delivery to Tame Impala. The rhythm section is prominent from the get-go and remains a driving force throughout, sounding excellent alongside the languid, jangly guitars. The final minute or so expands the melody further, particularly the percussion work around 02:10. “Naked” is a very solid effort from Syringa.

“Naked” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of August 2018’ Spotify playlist.
