Beach For Tiger – “Toffee”

/

“Toffee” is a striking new track from Beach For Tiger, the psychedelic rock band from London/Essex we were introduced to with the soaring track “Something Good” last year. “Toffee” is the best I’ve heard from them yet, captivating from the get-go, when the heavy synths land alongside suavely trickling guitars. Aesthetically, there’s a likeness to Toro y Moi. The track excels at the two-minute mark, when fluid guitars, a blissful bass line, and enveloping synths – giving off a slightly symphonic vibe – complement the main vocal hook. Guitar crunches and more versatile synth lines follow, making for a trippy and jazz-laden final minute. “Toffee” is an excellent track from Beach For Tiger.

This track made it onto to our ‘Best Tracks of 2018’ Spotify playlist.

“Toffee” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of September 2018’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Rock 2018.
