Ritual Talk – “Undone”

/

Brooklyn-based act Ritual Talk showed the development of a murky soundscape into sharply melodic, guitar-twang clarity on previously featured track “Something to Look Forward To“. Their newest track, “Undone”, again shows the group’s atmospheric prowess, with clanking synths and lush synths complementing a gripping, ghostly vocal presence that reminds of fellow Brooklyn-based musician Ed Droste. Among the track’s themes, per the band, is the wrestle with “the impermanence of identity.” The band will be kicking off a national tour this fall, with a release show in Denver. From atmospheric groovers like “Undone” to peppier guitar-led efforts like “Reminders“, Ritual Talk have made clear their captivating vein of songwriting with commendable tonal and structural variety.

“Undone” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2018’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Lush, Suave/Slacker, + Jangle-Rock 2018.
