Tripsitters – “crush”

Tripsitters are a new act from Norman, Oklahoma. Their alluring track “crush” comes via their debut EP Empty Daydream, released on October 20th. A three-piece comprised of Jeremiah Rankin (vocals), Michael Moffitt (guitar), and Logan Morris (drums), Tripsitters use the track as a showcase for their smoothly melodic chops. The “and I’ll always dream of you,” vocal ascension marks the track’s trajectory into bright, hooky melodies, evolving into a section that enjoyably emphasizes a soaring guitar lead. The guitar headline again at 02:37, taking hold until the vocals re-emerge in a lusher rendition of the main melody. This track is full of memorable melodic moments, and an affirmation to this band’s knack for accessibly hooky songwriting.
