Damon Mitchell – “Elise”

/

“Elise” shows the strengths of singer/songwriter Damon Mitchell, an artist based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Inspired by ’60s Beatles and specifically McCartney, as well as ’70s classic rock, Mitchell conjures a timeless sounding vein of rock. “Elise” comes from a forthcoming album of the same name, releasing on March 2nd. The track touts a nocturnal feel, with suave vocals and chugging guitars leading a pleasant melody. The “locked up in chains,” bridge is particularly effective, especially when leading into the guitar solo just past the three-minute mark. “Elise” shows that Mitchell’s forthcoming EP is worth anticipating.

“Elise” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2019’ Spotify playlist.
