Eerie Point – “Artificial Things”

/

The five members of Eerie Point blend their numerous influences – alternative, grunge, folk, and blues among them – into a sound that has drawn praise for their live performances (the band won the $1500 grand prize in Innovation Concerts’ Best of the Best 2018 competition). The Toledo-based act recently released the album Local Fame, which actually opens with a track the band has a penchant for ending live shows with (being the most requested song by fans). It’s a rousing effort, one that draws comparisons to The Walkmen and The Hold Steady with the ardent vocals and melodic progression. “A lot of our songs are bluesy, but then incorporate pop and ballad-style riffs,” bassist Dan Hatfield told Toledo City Paper. “We have a little bit of everything, and we like it that way.”
