Supercaan – “The Bull (Edit)”

/

Hailing from Birmingham/London, Supercaan’s debut release “The Bull” is off their forthcoming debut album, releasing in March. The track features an emotive build-up, with rousing key-laden trickles in the bridge leading to an enjoyably forlorn chorus. The husky vocal presence meshes with hypnotic guitar textures for a consuming result, one that reminds of The National in both the deep-set vocals and rumbling mixture of guitar and murky rhythms. The bass line in general touts a post-punk feel, going nicely with the escalation from nonchalant vocals to a more emotive turn in the chorus, reminding of Echo & the Bunnymen.

“The Bull (Edit)” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2019’ Spotify playlist.
