Leggy – “Taffy”

/

Cincinnati trio Leggy show their gripping rock sound on new track “Taffy,” coming from their forthcoming album Let Me Know Your Moon, releasing March 8th via Sheer Luck Records. The guitars in the verses tout a distorted, punk-friendly edge, a stellar complement to the initially nonchalant vocals, which escalate with emotive fervor during the chorus — “So you can stay but I never “made” you stay / It can’t be worse than the cigarettes and drugs you smoke.” Courtney Barnett comes to mind as an aesthetic point; Taffy capture a similar degree of artful excitement, which has me anticipating the forthcoming Let Me Know Your Moon.

“Taffy” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2019’ Spotify playlist.
