Sal Dulu – “Buzzcut” (feat. staHHr)

//

“Buzzcut” is a stellar track from Sal Dulu that shows the artist’s eclectic production shops, expertly interweaving atmospheric electronica with murky hip-hop. Dramatic strings emerge after the one-minute mark, becoming especially prominent after the hip-hop verses, courtesy of Memphis-born and Atlanta-based artist staHHr. The contrast between infectious vocal flow and more contemplative, somber string arrangements is affecting, especially as the distant vocal samples and lush synth pads begin to provide a gripping undercurrent. “Buzzcut” is a deeply atmospheric cut from Sal Dulu that serves as another success from the Dublin-based artist.

“Buzzcut” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2019’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Indie Hip-Hop and Rap.
