“Ark” is an impressive debut single from Shangri-La Kids’ debut album Visions, the craft of a Phoenix, AZ multi-instrumentalist. Immediately, the thick guitar presence gives off a hypnotic funk-tinged rock vibe reminiscent of Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Serene, soaring vocals provide a pleasant accompaniment as trickling keys emerge at the 35-second mark. More playful guitar tones come as the one-minute turn comes, with the key-laden effects lending a hypnotic allure. Hypnotic and rockin’, “Ark” is a very solid debut from this promising project.
