ZOMOZ – “Hachooom!”

/

Tropical guitar tones and the sound of trickling water immediately make the aesthetic of “Hachooom!” fit for the sunshine. The latest track from Japanese act ZOMOZ, who released their first EP, Animacy on April 26th, “Hachooom!” is a chilled-out groover with aspects of vintage surf-rock and pop. Its release also comes with the hand-drawn video above, nicely reflecting the track’s breezy vibes. The overall feel reminds me of fellow Japanese artist Shintaro Sakamoto, churning out an effortless-sounding vein of rock and pop with ’60s and ’70s chilled-out appeal. Fans of this approach should certainly check out the rest of the EP, below:

“Hachooom” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2019’ Spotify playlist.
