Hugo Cottu – “Afterglow” (feat. Alison Salens)

Following up the success of fantastic track “For All I Know,” Hugo Cottu’s latest — “Afterglow” — is a soulful groover with entrancing qualities. Both these recent tracks come from the artist’s recently released Portfolio EP.

Alison Salens’ vocals carry “Afterglow,” exuding a lushly effective presence alongside the tender guitar work and mellow rhythms. The soulful R&B vibes succeed, most certainly. Whereas “For All I Know” showed a more Mac Demarco-esque crooner in the rock/pop vein, this track succeeds with a soulful Style Council-esque pull. Such range is exemplary of the quality and enjoyment throughout the Portfolio EP, streaming below:

“Afterglow” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2019’ Spotify playlist.
