Let’s Be Giants – “Peter”

/

Montreal act Let’s Be Giants impress with the track “Peter,” off their just-released debut EP Beneath the Blue. Formed by singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Esther Spiegelman in 2016 alongside her brother Yankie, Let’s Be Giants initially began as a folk duo. Since then, the band has expanded in sound and cast, adding Marek McChalski on drums, Matt Wozniak on bass, and Jeremie Dallaire on lead guitar. Evident on “Peter” is an expansive, building-up sound that explores dream-pop and culminates in vibrant prog-rock territory. Spiegelman’s vocal evolution from serene beginnings to passion prog-rock supplementation works cohesively and entrancingly. Check out the rest of the EP below:

“Peter” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of July 2019’ Spotify playlist.
