ttypes – “I Remember in the Time of Dangerous Groups”

/

Grand Rapids, Michigan-based singer/songwriter Tim Krauss touts a swirling psych-pop sound on “I Remember in the Time of Dangerous Groups,” a track from his project ttypes. Under the ttypes name, Krauss’ stylistic reach expands from rock and piano-pop to ambient instrumentals — noting a heavy influence from the “books of Ursula K. LeGuin.” This particular track touts a lush, caressing sound with beautiful vocal layers. Twinkling keys/synths provide a seemingly aquatic quality, reflecting a submerged sort of peacefulness. As such, the soundscape aptly reflects an otherworldly, retrospective feel. “This is a loosely sci-fi themed dream pop song about unrequited love,” Krauss says. “It’s a song about being happy about remembering being sad.”

“I Remember in the Time of Dangerous Groups” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of October 2019’ Spotify playlist.
