Holy Posers – “Little Every Day”

The vibrant, bursting “Little Every Day” is a thoroughly enjoyable listen. The track comes from St. Louis-based sextet Holy Posers, and their newly released debut LP, Are You Sure You’re Having Fun?. “Little Every Day” is five minutes of upbeat, melodic expansion — spearheaded by bright, soulful vocals alongside effervescent brass, strings, and a bustling rhythm section. The vocals and chamber-pop orchestral movements build patiently to start, though at the 50-second mark there’s no mistaking the track’s soaring escalation. Vocal-led bounciness at 01:38 bridges melodically between the verses. The track’s final one-third mixes things up melodically into suaver, funk-tinged territory, before the conclusion revisits the vocal bounciness from earlier. “Little Every Day” is a lovely, upbeat success.

“Little Every Day” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of January 2020’ Spotify playlist.
