Premiere: Sean Alan – “True Love Don’t Die”

/

“True Love Don’t Die” touts a soulful, twangy rock sound in the vein of Kurt Vile. The consuming track released today from Sean Alan, a Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter with an album out later this year. He is releasing one album track at a time, with “True Love Don’t Die” marking the first entry. “It’s a love song straight from the guts—inspired poetry that aches and sparkles with vintage warmth and cinematic style,” Alan says of the track. “You are the scarlet sky,” Alan sings as the one-minute mark approaches, unveiling a beautifully twangy assortment of guitars and backing melodic vocals. The “freight train,” verse that follows plays with convincing passion. “True Love Don’t Die” is a consuming effort from start to finish.

“True Love Don’t Die” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of February 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
