Wes Chiller – “Ladybug”

/

“Ladybug” is a fun, no-frills rocker bound to get stuck in your head. Acoustical shuffles and a surf-friendly guitar twang complement suave vocals, gearing toward the irresistible “little ladybug,” chorus. The bouncy piano-laden bridge at 01:24 is another excellent moment. The “when she appears,” guitar-forward emphasis stands out, especially. Many of Wes Chiller’s formative music experiences growing up took place between surf sessions in Southern California towns, a fact that leaves audible remnants via a surf-friendly likability and knack for easy-going melodic charm.

“Ladybug” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of April 2020’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
