Tom Galloway – “Mercy of Your Mood”

/

Showing a suave vocal lead and twangy aesthetic reminiscent of Kurt Vile, Tom Galloway‘s “Mercy of Your Mood” is a delightful new track. Its “way it’s going, I’ll be gone soon,” hook repeats with a tender satisfaction, alongside a warming arsenal of guitars and key-laden touches. Recorded at Southern Ground Studios in Nashville, “Mercy of Your Mood” touts great production and nicely showcases Galloway’s accessible, melodic vein of songwriting. A guitar solo around 02:30 adds well, carrying toward a satisfying conclusion. Fans of War on Drugs and Kurt Vile will no doubt enjoy this.

“Mercy of Your Mood” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of May 2020’ Spotify playlist.
