Great Wave – “Cosmic Bowling”

“Cosmic Bowling” is the latest from Great Wave, the Scranton-based act whose gorgeous track “Sorry, Darling” premiered a year ago. That effort packed a moody, haunting allure with unique appeal. “Cosmic Bowling” impresses with similar haunts. Murky bass and haunting acoustics accompany escalating vocals, reaching new heights past the one-minute mark. A snarling guitar around 01:50 shows a Pixies-esque charm initially, then unfolding into a beautifully dark cavernous quality that leads into a ghostly piano. “Cosmic Bowling” is an atmospheric, engrossing output from Great Wave.

“Cosmic Bowling” and other memorable tracks from this month can also be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Best of November 2020’ Spotify playlist.
